Camel Pic
Many camel pic (pictures) can be seen on exotic farms sites online and on a farm that sells the animals.
In North America the animals died out about 3000 B.C. It's thought that the Dromedary type may have evolved from the Bactrian type. The Bactrian type was domesticated about 4,500 years ago in Bactria (what is presently Turcmenia and Iran) as draft and pack animals.

Camel Pic -
farms, farm
There are two species within the family of Camelidae: Arabian type (Camelus dromedaries) and Bactrian type (Camelus bactrianus). These animals are ungulates; thus the animal has two humps and a Dromedary type has one visible hump. One of the breeds evolved in North America in the Eocene epoch and migrated across the Bering Strait land bridge to Asia.
